World Food Day in Thailand: EEI at Opportunity Foundation

On 16 October 2026, Equal Education Initiative (EEI) organised a World Food Day programme at Opportunity Foundation in Thailand. EEI members joined the foundation’s community for a morning that brought together introductions, group activities and the sharing of gifts.

The day began around the meeting tables. Before the group photographs and paper packages, there was time for people to sit together and get acquainted.

A morning planned around participation

EEI’s agenda opened with a welcome from Opportunity Foundation director Pipitchaya Simpson, followed by an ice-breaking session. Two activity rotations and a group project were scheduled before the final gift presentation and photographs.

The photographs capture parts of that morning: team members working around the tables, participants arranging small brown packages and children joining the gathering. They offer a glimpse of the people involved without pretending that a few images can tell the whole story.

Why World Food Day belongs in the conversation

EEI’s main focus is education, practical skills and mentorship. But a child’s opportunity to learn is also shaped by everyday circumstances, including whether their basic needs are met. World Food Day is an occasion to pay attention to one of those needs.

The programme at Opportunity Foundation gave EEI a chance to spend time with the children and adults there, take part in practical activities and make connections outside the classroom.

EEI thanks Opportunity Foundation for welcoming the programme, and everyone who gave their time to make the morning possible.
